Late Night with the Devil Movie Storyline

In 1977, a desperate Jack Delroy, host of the struggling late-night talk show “Night Owls,” plans a Halloween special to resurrect his career, a year after the tragic death of his wife, Madeleine Piper. Hoping to capture the zeitgeist of a nation obsessed with the occult, Jack invites a parapsychologist, June Ross-Mitchell, and her patient, Lilly D’Abo, a young woman who was the sole survivor of a Satanic cult. Also appearing is Carmichael Haig, a skeptical magician intending to debunk June’s claims. As the live broadcast progresses, Lilly’s unsettling behavior becomes increasingly disturbing, triggering a series of supernatural events within the studio. Carmichael’s skepticism crumbles as he witnesses genuine phenomena, while June desperately tries to maintain control. Gus McConnell, the show’s producer, struggles to keep the broadcast on track, balancing sensationalism with the growing horror unfolding before the cameras. What begins as a ratings stunt soon spirals into a terrifying descent, as a malevolent entity uses the live broadcast as a conduit, unleashing chaos and violence that blurs the lines between reality and nightmare, leaving the audience to question what they’ve just witnessed and whether some doors are better left unopened. The show ends abruptly, leaving the fate of Jack and his crew uncertain, forever branding “Night Owls” as the broadcast that unleashed hell into the nation’s living rooms.
